Questions

The paintings

Are these prints or paintings?

Prints of paintings. Each began as an original by Mark Lawrence, painted from a single Bible verse, and is printed on canvas to order. The originals and the signed, hand-finished limited editions are at marklawrencegallery.com. What you buy here is the open edition: the same painting, printed on demand, at a price for a family wall.

Is the verse printed on the canvas?

No. The painting is the verse. The reference is on the page and in the title, but there is no lettering across the canvas. On the wall it reads as a modern abstract painting, and the verse is there for anyone who asks.

Which translation are the verses from?

The King James Version, quoted plainly with its reference on every page.

Will the colors match what I see on screen?

Closely, not exactly. Every canvas is printed from the same file with calibrated inks, but no two screens show color the same way. A matte canvas under a window will look softer than a phone in the dark. If color matters to a decision, write to us and ask; Mark has every one of these on his own walls.

Ordering

How do I choose a size?

The size guide has every size, every price, and the rule for the wall above a sofa, a bed or a narrow gap. If you are between two, take the larger.

Can I see how it would look in my home first?

Yes, and please do. Photograph the wall with the furniture under it, straight on, and send it to hello@christianmodernart.com with the painting you are thinking of and a rough width for the wall or the sofa. Mark sets the painting on your wall at the right size and sends the picture back. No charge, no obligation, and most people who ask end up choosing a size larger than they first had in mind.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders go into production soon after they are placed, because every canvas is printed to order. If you need to change the size, the frame or the address, write to hello@christianmodernart.com immediately and we will do what we can. Once printing has started it cannot be stopped.

Can I send it as a gift?

Yes. Put the recipient's address at checkout and it ships straight to them, ready to hang, in a plain box with no prices inside. No prices or paperwork go in the box, so it arrives as a gift and not as an order.

Do you take custom sizes or commissions?

Not through this store. Write and ask; if it is possible, Mark will say so.

Shipping and delivery

How long does it take?

One to two business days to print and stretch, occasionally up to five, then three to seven business days in transit inside the United States. Most orders arrive within about two weeks. You get a tracking link by email the moment it ships.

Is shipping really free?

Yes, on every size, every frame. The store ships inside the United States only at the moment. If you are abroad, write to Mark at hello@christianmodernart.com before you order and he will tell you what is possible.

Where is it made?

Orders for the United States are printed, stretched and framed in America. The box carries no printer's branding. It comes from the artist.

If something goes wrong

It arrived damaged.

Keep the box. Within 30 days of delivery, email hello@christianmodernart.com with a photo of the damage, one of the packaging and one of the shipping label, and we replace it free or refund you in full. Our refund policy has the detail.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

No, and we would rather say so plainly than surprise you. Each canvas is made to order and there is no shelf to return it to. Please check the size and the frame before you buy; the size guide is there to help, and so are we.
